Spring Lookbook - Unisex Appeal
•Posted on May 17 2018

Since I started Burke, it has been a goal of mine to offer some of the best in unisex design from home goods to beauty products, to accessories and clothing. I've always been a fan of menswear inspired looks and androgyny in fashion.
Slow fashion to me not only embodies classic styles and fabrics that will serve you with quality and timelessness, but it often also blurs the lines of what is typically gender or age specific, reaching across time and trends.
I want to offer my customers items you can share with your sibling, your parent, your significant other, or your best friend. And I am lucky to have curated some incredible, emerging brands who are pushing the boundaries of these confines in their lines and product design.

I wanted to capture looks from these brands in my spring lookbook to show how some of our "men's" items look great on women, some "women's" items look great on men, and how some were just made with no gender assignment at all. The fluidity of good style and design can transcend the norms.
I have to say, this wouldn't have come to life had the young, talented photographer - Emma Morem - not reached out to me on instagram all the way from Omaha, Nebraska with the interest to work together. As a brand new small business owner, I've been doing (or trying to do) absolutely everything myself. But the idea of being able to style and direct a shoot to capture these looks, without also having to worry about taking the photos, was too appealing and Emma made the decision all to easy. She understood my vision, and was a BOSS at helping direct the shoot and finding the right locations, and capturing such beautiful images. Give her a follow @emmamorem for more of her work!
Take a peek at the lookbook and let me know in the comments which pieces are your fave & which you'll be lusting after for your spring wardrobe!
