Ripaka Linen Jacket
Inspired by the traditional Asian indigenous garments such as a Japanese tribe called “Ainu” and the Han Chinese, this brand-new jacket style by Monitaly offers an elegant-yet-casual look with a unique cut and draping silhouette. The style “Ripaka” first started from the Kapari Coat from their FW17 collection, whose name was borrowed from the word “Kapriamibu” meaning a Japanese kimono made out of thinner fabric, in the language that the Ainu people used. For SS18, that style is modified and the length of the coat got trimmed up to around the hip. That modification made a 2-way styling possible as it’s also stylish to wear it upside-down. One jacket, two amazing style possibilities! This jacket style is genderless, unlined and features side slits, self string closure, and French seam construction. It is designed to have a looser fit.
