Single Stone Earrings - Fossil Volcano Ash
Alison Jean Cole travels the West in search of beautiful rocks in nature. She takes large chunks of rough material to cut into slabs on a really big rock saw, then the shapes are trimmed out of the slabs on a smaller rock saw. She uses successive grits to polish each stone by hand on a rudimentary faceting machine. The result are these gorgeous, unique and one of a kind pieces.
This pair of single stone earrings are fossilized volcanic ash (34 million years old!) stones in a half circle shape on 14K gold drop posts which have a loop clasp on the back side. Stone measures about 1.25" wide and earrings are about 2" long.
