The Drift is a magazine of culture and politics. Founded in June 2020, The Drift aims to introduce new work and new ideas by young writers who haven't yet been absorbed into the media hive mind and don't feel hemmed in by the boundaries of the existing discourse. Published three times a year, their issues feature longform essays and cultural criticism, short fiction, poetry, interviews, dispatches, and extremely abbreviated reviews.
Featuring essays on IDF warnings, archaeological land grabs, cop feminism, and our surveillance Stockholm syndrome; an interview with Jayati Ghosh; dispatches on literature in translation; fiction by Ella Fox-Martens, Steven Potter, Ji Hyun Joo, and Miriam Gordis; poetry by David Ehmcke, Kathleen Radigan, Ridwan Tijani, Sienna Liu, Ryan Ruby, Homa Zarghamee, and Edward Salem; plus extremely abbreviated reviews, an editors’ note, and more.
